Helping Mom with Dinner

This is me and dad helping Mom make dinner.
Here I am carrying around my blankie.

And here Dad is teaching me how to play lacrosse in the kitchen.

(This all helps Mom make dinner because she doesn't have to take care of me.)

Mommy is in Trouble

Mommy gave me prunes yesterday. Daddy changed my diaper today. Mommy isn't allowed to give me prunes anymore.

In the Yard with Papa

Last Sunday was quite a lovely day, so Papa and I played in the yard for a little while. I got grass between my toes. It was fun. In fact, it was all so mesmerizing that Mom couldn't get me to look at the camera even once, which is a rarity because I'm quite the little prima donna.

My Easter Bunny

Grandma Bonnie got me this singing Easter Bunny, and I'm just not sure about it. The bunny sings and the egg opens up and a little chick inside tweets at me. I don't really smile or laugh at it, but I cry when it stops, so mom has to keep squeezing bunny's foot (that makes him sing more). So here I am in my crib with bunny while mom is trying to iron, while having to come over every minute to squeeze bunny's foot.

Cups

So, Mom is under the impression that I should be learning to drink from a cup now, 'before I know what's hit me' (someone please take these books away from her). So I comply. She puts little drips of water in this big ol' cup, and I sit there with my mouth open waiting for her to try to drown me. Sometimes I swallow the water though and it's pretty good, that's why I keep sitting there with my mouth open. Most of the time though I just get a bath. Then she just lets me play with the cup. So here I am playing with my cup. (Notice that I'm mostly naked. That's how mom feeds me now, because I stained one too many onesies with green beans and sweet potatoes).

Pesto Rolls

Every once in a while, mom gets these pesto-cheese rolls from the Moscow Food Co-Op. Papa always loves it when she does that, so I figured they must be pretty good. So I grabbed Papa's hand and made him give me some of his. I was right. They're pretty darn good.

. . . yum!

Buddy Gus's Party

My neighbor, Gus, is having his first birthday tomorrow, but his party was on Saturday. They threw all of us on the couch for a group picture. I'm the teeny tiny one on the far left getting elbowed by a very enthusiastically clapping George Owen. Oh, Gus is the second from the far right. If anyone is keeping track, this picture was pilfered from Lily's site because mom forgot her camera. Lily is the one in the very middle. Between George and Lily is Alice. Between Lily and Gus is Ridley. On the far right is Clive, Alice's brother.

Happy Birthday to Me!

Today I am four months old!! Yay for me! The tulips are blooming too, so I'm feeling extra springy, hence the spring colors. If I forget on Sunday, Happy Easter!

Found It!!

So I have officially and reliably found my thumb. I used to just suck on my 'finners' as a whole, taking whichever ones I could get into my mouth. But now I can seek out and find my thumb, and let me tell ya, it's good stuff. (Also helps me to get to sleep faster, which I think mom likes.)

Green Beans.

So I had green beans this morning. Despite the fact that they looked like green algae scraped from the bottom of grandma's fish pond, I managed to down them with only one pathetic little gag that made mom laugh. I want my banamas back.

Banamas!!!

So for the past week, mom has been introducing me to some NEW foods. First, she adulterated my old stand-by with this flaky 'cereal' stuff. That's okay I guess. I have about a teaspoon or two twice a day now, served elegantly out of a shot glass (I believe it's the 'rook' out of mom and dad's shot glass chess set). About a week ago, I tried sweet potatoes. Those were interesting. They're also really fun to get everywhere, and you can really SEE your progress when you get it all over your clothes and chair! But neither of those two foods top my new favorite . . . bananas! Yay for bananas! I used to kind of mull them over in my mouth, but now I just sit with my mouth open till mom puts the spoon in, and then I swallow them right up! I might even finish half of the jar before its three day expiration date. . .

P.S. I know some of you may be concerned that I'm a little 'young' for solid foods. Well, let me explain this to you. I am a firstborn child, and my mother tends to be of the impatient nature. In other words, she just couldn't wait to use those cute little orange and pink and green and blue silicone tipped spoons. But hey, I'm cool with it. Until she tries peas . . . hmm. My buddy Gus warned me about those. . .
