Five Years of Fun for Mom and Dad

This post is kind of a photographic timeline of my family's vacations in the San Juan Islands. From kids, to newlyweds, to newlyweds with a kid. How time flies when you're having so much fun.

Ferry Rides

First, a picture of my mom and dad on the ferry on their senior trip, five years ago (note the date, one day after what would be their anniversary in three years). . .

Now, a picture of my mom and dad on the ferry on their honeymoon, two years ago. . .

And now, pictures of my mom and me and my dad and me on the ferry, just a few days ago. . .

And last but not least, a picture of me, on the ferry, all bundled up.

Roche Harbor Gardens

Here we have a picture of my mom and dad walking through the Roche Harbor Gardens on their senior trip, five years ago . . .

And here, a picture of my dad and me on that very same path in that very same garden, just a few days ago . . .

Picnic Tables

Here is a cheesy picture from two years ago of mom and dad's hands, with wedding rings, on the table where dad carved mom's name five years ago on their senior trip. Mom's name is just to the left of the screw thingie . . .

And here is mom and me trying to find the table again a few days ago. Darn all those tax dollars going to state parks . . . they replaced mom and dad's table with a new one. Alas.

Yay for Car Rides!

So mom and dad took me on a trip this weekend for their second anniversary. I decided to start the trip out by giving them an anniversary present. Only problem was, it didn't stay in its fancy Huggies wrapper, and managed to sneak most of itself out into my carseat. But that just made for TWO presents! This is papa cleaning up the carseat half of my present on the side of I-90. You should have seen him. He looked REALLY funny out there. Mom got the Huggies half of the present. They both liked the presents very much. At least they laughed a whole lot, so I'm guessing they liked them.

Playing with Gramma in the Garden

#1 Fan

I am my Uncle Scotty's number one fan. I went to all of his home LaCrosse games to cheer him on and I even made a shirt to match him (ok...so mom helped a little). The first three pictures are from the game at the University of Idaho's Kibbie Dome. That was cool. They won that game (yes, I got a little tired at the end...it was past my bedtime). The last two are from their last home game against the #1 team in the league, and well, they didn't win, but it was exciting!

Making the Bed

I love to help mom make the bed. Especially when she throws the sheets over my head. I usually stick my tongue out at her when she does that, and for some reason she thinks that that is really funny.

Big Chair, Little Me

I got a sweet new high chair on Saturday, and it's about time. Eating in my swing was getting to be a real chore. But now I have my own chair at the table, just like mom and dad! It's a little big for me now, but I'll grow into it. Besides, being tiny means I can put my feet up on my tray!

My Past Week

We went up to Spokane last weekend. Dad taught me how to drive. Seein' over that wheel was pretty hard though, I gotta say.

Everybody loves the classic "baby asleep on pop" picture, so here's one of me and pop.

And last but not least, I've got a cold. As a result, mom has been having me sleep in my cool swing so that my head can stay elevated. However, I've discovered this fun new game where whenever someone tries to put me in any sort of upright position, I slide down as far as I can. So here I am, trying to slide out of my swing. But about the cold thing, I just want you all to know that I'm being a real trooper. I sneeze and sniff all day, but with a smile. I threw up all over mommy's floor yesterday, and then just laid there and smiled as she cleaned it all up! What a trooper!

SWF

I like mashed bananas, naps in my swing, and long walks in the arboretum.
